The 10k starts on the beautiful, Notre Dame de Namur Campus. Nestled off Ralston Avenue, the Ralston Hall Mansion will be the backdrop for this event start. Runners and walkers will pass by Notre Dame High School and Notre Dame Elementary as they make their way toward Notre Dame Avenue. After a left down Belburn Drive, athletes will continue past Barrett Community Center. A left on Academy Avenue will bring participants to Ralston Avenue where they will pass by Carlmont Village Shopping Center. After crossing Alameda de las Pulgas, athletes will follow the course down Lyall Way where they will have access to a water station. At Lake Road, participants will be directed by volunteers to turn on to Lake Road Trail [entrance to Water Dog Lake Park]. Athletes will follow the fire road uphill through beautiful Water Dog Lake Park. Runners and walkers will be treated to lush hill sides and steep canyon ravine. As they wind their way up to Hallmark Drive, they will pass beneath the newest educational community member, Crystal Springs Uplands School and Ralston Middle School.
Athletes will be met with an aid station at the top of Lake Road Trail and Hallmark Drive. Participants will continue on to John Brooks Trail where they will find their turn around and then retrace their steps back downhill. Gentle on the legs, the downhill return will allow for quick turnover as one aims to regain lost time from the uphill climb. Upon exiting Lake Road Trail, athletes will retrace their steps back to Ralston Avenue. Entering Twin Pines Park, runners and walkers will be met with the beauty of the redwoods in this tiny gem of a park next to City Hall where the finish line awaits.
Finishers will be met by their family and friends at the finish line where they will be able to experience the post-race exhibitor area. Finishers and their families will be able to partake in a pancake breakfast hosted by the Rotary Club of Belmont-Redwood Shores.
Water stations will provide water and electrolyte replacement.
