Hello Belmont Water Dog Run Participant,

We are a few days away from Race Day!! We are putting the final touches on the inaugural Belmont Water Dog Run. You are going to be a part of Belmont history!  This run/walk supporting education in Belmont, will be a very fun event.  We cannot wait to see you at the start line and celebrate with you when you finish!

We know you have some questions about this event.  This race update will help answer some of the questions you have. Questions about packet pickup (your bib number and event shirt), parking, specific details about the Fido Run, and more are included in this race update.

Though long, it is important to read the update so that you know the details of your race weekend. In addition to this email, we will post the update on our website and on our Facebook Event Page.  If you have friends or family who are interested in signing up, online registration is open through Saturday morning and will close at 6am.

RACE SHIRT & MEDAL

We would love to see you in this event shirt on race day! If you are the type that feels you need to earn your shirt, we are encouraging you to wear it! Your hard earned medal will be waiting for you at the finish line.

PACKET PICKUP TIMES AND LOCATIONS
We recommend you pick up your race packet PRIOR to race day! This is the best way to keep your race morning stress free and keep a smile on your face! You can pick up a friend’s bib number and shirt provided you bring a copy of their driver’s license. (YOU MUST HAVE A COPY OF THEIR PHOTO ID (photo of the ID on your phone is acceptable), NO EXCEPTIONS).  Children under the age of 18 do not need a Photo ID nor do you need to bring a photo ID to obtain your child’s packet.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2018 
Pre-race Packet Pickup (All Events)
Location: 1011 Alameda de Las Pulgas (Carlmont Shopping Center)
Time: 4:30pm-7:30pm (Packets will not be available prior to 4:30pm)
You must have a photo ID in order to pick up your packet.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 13, 2018 (RACE DAY)
Location: Notre Dame de Namur University (in front of Ralston Hall)
Time: 6:00 am to 7:15 am
Distances:  5k, 10k, and 1 mile kids’ fun run ONLY.  There is a strict “NO DOGS” policy at this location. (Please respect our host’s wishes by not bringing your dog onto campus).
You must have a photo ID in order to pick up your packet.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 13, 2018 (RACE DAY)
KIDS AND FIDO [DOG]
Location: Twin Pines Park
Time:  8:00am-9:30am
Distances:  1 mile kids’ fun run and Fido [dog] Run

PARKING
Parking for The Belmont Water Dog Run will be provided by Notre Dame de Namur University and Notre Dame High School. Please print out the attached parking pass and place it on your dashboard so that you will not be ticketed. Please note that NO DOGS are allowed on these properties.  Parking for the Fido Run must be in the streets and lots surrounding Twin Pines Park.  There is no parking at Twin Pines Park. Please do not park in Wells Fargo Parking lot.  The bank is open on Saturday.

B.Y.O.B(ag)
Bring your own bag. There will be a bag drop at the start line for you to drop any sweatshirts, keys, etc. We will have your bag marked with your distance and your bib number. We do ask, however, that you not put anything of value in your bag as we are not responsible for items lost or stolen.
Your bag will be transported to the finish line where you will be able to retrieve it post-race.

Kids’ 1Mile (untimed event) – 8:45am
Wave 1 -  8:45am 10-14 years old
Wave 2 - 8:50am 6-9 years old
Wave 3 – 8:55am 5 and under
Fido [dog] 1Mile (untimed event) – 9:15am
ONLY the dogs get swag, it is their race after all

AWARDS
Overall:
Overall awards will be three deep for the 5k and 10k.
Age Group Awards:
Age group awards will be three deep for the 5k and 10k. You must be present in order to pick up your awards. Awards will not be mailed out after the event. Awards will start at approximately 9:15 am with the 5k and 10k Age groups are as follows: 8-10, 11-13, 14-16, 17-20, 21-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.

WATERDOG TAVERN
Our gracious host for our training runs, (Tuesday’s, Training, and Tacos), is offering a pasta dish on their menu Friday night for participants if they wish to come by after picking up their packet. Or, you can stop by for lunch after your race and relive the miles over an adult beverage of choice.

PIZZA and PANCAKE's for BREAKFAST
The Rotary Club of Belmont Redwood Shores is hosting a pancake breakfast for all participants who show their bib number at entry.  The pancake breakfast will be complete with fresh fruit, orange juice, yogurt, and coffeecake. There will also be coffee and tea available. All items have been generously donated by our sponsors, iHOP, Piazza’s Fine Foods, Siggi’s, Hobee's Restaurant, and Peet’s Coffee. If the pancakes and coffee cake don't fill you up, Mountain Mike's Pizza has generously donated pizza for this event.
