Where is the Start Line for the 5k and the 10k?
The start line for the 5k and the 10k will be in front of Ralston Hall on the pristine grounds of Notre Dame de Namur University, 1500 Ralston Avenue, Belmont.
Where is the start line for the Kid's 1 mile run?
The start line for the Kid's 1 mile run will be at Twin Pines Park, 1 Twin Pines Lane, Belmont.
Where is the start line for the FIDO RUN One Mile Run?
The start line for the FIDO RUN 1 mile run will be at Twin Pines Park, 1 Twin Pines Lane, Belmont.
Is the course hilly?
The 5k and the 1 mile courses are not hilly. The 10k course is a bit more challenging, but not difficult. Remember, what goes up, must come down. Look forward to that nice long, down-hill finish. Everyone will PR this course in 2018!
How many aid stations will there be?
On the 5k course, there will be one aid station. On the 10k course, there will be three.
What will be served at the Aid Stations?
We will have water and electrolyte replacement drink. Sponsor, Skratch Labs, has provided electrolyte replacement for this inaugural event.
Where is the finish line?
For all of the events, the finish line will be in Twin Pines Park, 1 Twin Pines Lane, Belmont.
Parking is available at Notre Dame de Namur University campus and Notre Dame High School campus. Please note that both campus locations have a strict "NO DOG" policy. Please do not park at this location if you are participating in the Fido 1 mile run.
Parking for the Fido run can be found in the public lots and streets surrounding Twin Pines Park.
Please note: There will be NO public parking at Twin Pines Park, 1 Twin Pines Lane, Belmont beginning Friday, October 12, 2018 through Sunday, October 14, 2018 to accommodate the festive weekend.
Strollers and Dogs
Are strollers allowed?
Yes, strollers are allowed. The 5k course is very stroller friendly. The 10k course would require a jog stroller with all-terrain tires. The ride could be a little bumpy.
Where do I line up with my stroller before my event?
It is always best for your child's safety and for the safety of the runners around you that you line up at the back of the pack for your event.
I want to run with my dog, can FIDO join me on the 5k or 10k?
Unfortunately our insurance will not allow FIDO at the start line of the 5k and the 10k. If you would like to run with your dog, you can bring FIDO to the start of the FIDO RUN. You can log a mile with FIDO then.
Are retractable leashes allowed?
No. You must have full control over FIDO at all times during the FIDO RUN 1 mile run and in the start/finish line. No off leash is allowed or retractable leashes. Owners MUST have a 6 foot or shorter, non-retractable leash.
Packet Pickup - Registration
Where is Packet Pickup?
We are offering Packet Pickup on Friday, October 12, 2018 and Saturday (Race Day), October 13, 2018. For your scheduling purposes, you can view times and locations here.
What do I need to bring to packet pick-up/registration?
Bring your PHOTO IDENTIFICATION (ID) or a copy of your ID in order to receive your packet. A valid driver’s license or a valid passport is best. Minors are not required to show a photo ID.
Can I pick up my friend’s packet for them?
Yes! Bring a copy of their photo ID and we will give you their packet. A copy of their ID as a photo on your phone works too.
Are we required to pick up our packets before race day?
No, however, we strongly recommend that you do pick up your packet before race day. This allows you to get ready for your race instead of waiting in a line.
What time should we be there on race day?
We recommend that you arrive at least 45 minutes before your start time to park and get ready for the race. If you did not get your packet before race day, you may want to give yourself even more time.
How soon does one need to register for the event?
We suggest that you try to register early to take advantage of the lower cost. Prices will increase the closer we get to race day.
If I cannot race, can I give someone else my race number?
No. Race entries are non-transferable.
How do I know you received my entry?
You will have received an email confirmation from our registration company, RaceRoster. If you can not find the confirmation email, you can email us at email@example.com. We will verify your participation from our registration list.
I have to cancel my event, can I get a refund?
We will be happy to issue you a credit for your registration, minus a $10 processing fee, toward a future Belmont Water Dog Run event. To receive a credit, you must email us at firstname.lastname@example.org a minimum of 10 days before the event date. We will email you back a confirmation along with the total amount of your future race credit. Please keep the confirmation email for your records. Credits are good through the following calendar year. Credits are nontransferable.
Do you offer discounts?
We do offer a 10% discount to students and faculty from any of the Belmont schools. Just let us know where you attend school or the school you work for and we will give you a code to apply toward your registration. You can email us at email@example.com.
I am the member of a running club, can I get a discount?
We would like to support our local runners and running clubs. If your group is 6 or more, please have the leader of the group reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will set you and your group up with a 10% discount code.
