Do  I  have to run? Can I walk?

NO!  You do not have to run -  unless you  are being chased by a bear. Then we suggest you run. FAST. You are definitely welcome to walk.  Or Sashay. Or crawl. We want you to have fun, no matter how you  do it!   (p.s. there  are no bears in Belmont. None that we know of anyway).

I signed up for 2020 and deferred  to 2021

We will email you a unique code for you to register for the 2021 event. Your code will  be good for the distance you  originally registered for. If you wish to upgrade your distance, we can provide a unique code to help apply what you paid for your 2020 event toward the new distance. You will be responsible for any outstanding balance, if applicable. If you wish to downgrade, you  will have a remaining credit if the balance you paid is higher than the current registration price. Where is the Start Line for the 5k and the 10k?

The start line for the 5k and the 10k will be at Twin Pines Park (1 Twin Pines Lane, Belmont)  for  our 2021  event. 

Where is the start line for the Kids' 1 mile run?

The start line for the Kid's 1 mile run will be at Twin Pines Park, 1 Twin Pines Lane, Belmont.

Where is the start line for the FIDO [dog] RUN One Mile Run?

The start line for the FIDO RUN 1 mile run will be at Twin Pines Park, 1 Twin Pines Lane, Belmont.

Is the course hilly? 
The 5k and the 1 mile courses are not hilly. The 10k course is a bit more challenging, but not difficult. Remember, what goes up, must come down.  Look forward to that nice long, down-hill finish.  Break your record from previous years!

How many aid stations will there be?

On the 5k course, there will be one aid station.  On the 10k course, there will be three.  

What will be served at the Aid Stations?

This will be updated as we have more guidance from our local, county, state and federal governments. We will follow all guidelines to keep our participants, volunteers, and staff safe. 

Where is the finish line?

For all of the events, the finish line will be in Twin Pines Park, 1 Twin Pines Lane, Belmont.


We are working  with the City of Belmont to accommodate parking needs on race day. More information will be coming out about this detail  as race day  approaches.

Child Strollers and Dogs. Dogs and Dog Strollers.

Are strollers allowed?

Yes, strollers are allowed.  The 5k course is very stroller friendly. The 10k course would require a jog stroller with all-terrain tires. The ride could be a little bumpy.

Where do I line up with my stroller before my event?

It is always best for your child's safety and for the safety of the runners around you that you line up at the back of the pack for your event.

I want to run with my dog, can FIDO join me on the 5k, 10k,  or can  our kids'  run  with the dog during the Kids' 1 mile?

Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate FIDO during the 5k, 10k or the kids' 1 mile run. Thank  you  for your  understanding of this policy.

Are retractable leashes allowed?

NO.  You must have full control over FIDO at all times. No off-leash (no matter how good the recall) or retractable leashes are allowed. Owners MUST have a 6 foot or shorter, non-retractable leash.


Are Dog Strollers Allowed?

If your FIDO  insists on being in a stroller (he/she may be on to something there), we must ask that you make sure FIDO is securely tethered inside the stroller. You must have full control over FIDO at all times.  Please line up in the  back of the  pack  so that other dogs and their humans don't trip  on the stroller  potentially harming your pet  or themselves.

What do I need to bring to packet pick-up/registration?

Bring your PHOTO IDENTIFICATION (ID) or a copy of your ID in order to receive your packet. A valid driver’s license or a valid passport is best. Minors are not required to show a photo ID. Yes, you may have a photo of your ID on your phone if that helps.

Can I pick up my friend’s packet for them?

Yes! Bring a copy of their photo ID and we will give you their packet.  A copy of their ID as a photo on your phone works too.

Are we required to pick up our packets before race day?

What time should we be there on race day?

How soon does one need to register for the event?

We suggest that you try to register early to take advantage of the lower cost. Prices will increase the closer we get to race day. 

If I cannot race, can I give someone else my race number?

No. Race entries are non-transferable. You can, however, reach out to us at and we will help you with options to use a credit for the next year. We can not offer refunds, however.

How do I know that I am registered?

You will have received an email confirmation from our registration company, RaceRoster. Make sure you check your spam/junk folders for your confirmation. If you can not find the confirmation email, you can email us at We will verify your participation from our registration list.

I have to cancel my event, can I get a refund?

We do not offer refunds. We will be happy to issue you a credit for your registration, minus a $10 processing fee, toward a future Belmont Water Dog Run event. To receive a credit, you must email us at a minimum of 10 days before the event date. We will email you back a confirmation along with the total amount of your future race credit. Please keep the confirmation email for your records. Credits are good through the following calendar year.  Credits are nontransferable.


Do you offer discounts?

We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization with proceeds going to our local schools through a grant application process. Discounts affect our beneficiaries. Unless you have a group of 10 or more, discounts are not offered.

I am the member of a running club, can I get a discount?

We would like to support our local runners and running clubs. If your group is 10 or more, please have the leader of the group reach out to us at and we will set you and your group up with a 10% discount code.
